It's Dancy Dance Time!

Momma bought me more blogger space so I am back. I was so excited I did a dance. On top of a septic tank circle at Uncle Aaron and Uncle Andrew's birthday celebration. Just recently I've invented some sweet new moves and instead of dancing for 3 seconds on command ("Dance Monkey Dance!" Momma likes to yell and that's a lot of pressure!) I just let loose.

My name is Knox! I like to Dance!
 My audience

To prepare for all that dancing I needed some ketchup. Momma gave me a hot dog on the side (my very first one!).

More from Momma

The last post was getting long so in order to spare your attention span (??? what, I don't know, does that make sense? it's been a long, slow day at work) and have a post all set to go for tomorrow I stopped. Then started again only moments later.

Words. So I mentioned Knox says "car" probably several times now. We have also mananged to get banana "ba", cracker "cack-oer" by repeat only, "da-da" (maybe? probably yes), and taco by repeat and souding suspiciously like cracker. We do have "taco" recorded though so maybe I can fiure out how to share that on here. He seems to get embarrassed about repeating words and instead of saying it back to us hides his face and laughs instead.

We have a few hangers-on cats outside our house and one of them is that cute little orange kitten, Scuzzbucket ("Scuzzy") I think Knox was pictured hugging on in a recent post. Knox has taken on a new responsibility and likes to help me feed this little guy. If I say "Let's feed Scuzzy" he follows me to the cat-room (it's a second bathroom not and entire room) where I fill the cat food cup. Then he carries the cup all by himself (my favorite part is walking him walk as carefully as he can with the cup in both hands so he doesn't spill) to the front door, out onto the porch and then he dumps it into the food dish. He then spends the entire time the poor Scuzz is trying to eat taking food out of the bowl, putting it back into his cup and then dumping it out again into the bowl (and onto the cat). I have resorted to bribing him with cookies to get him back in the house without screaming.

The cute walk with a full cup is also the reason I let him carry his own bowl of Cheerios from the kitchen to the living room ottoman where he likes to eat it first thing in the morning. He does get pretty bummed when he trips on something and spills this "first breakfast". On the subject of breakfast, litsen to what this monster can put away first thing in the morning: small bowl of Cheerios, cup of almond milk, an entire banana or grapefruit, waffle or toast, and an egg. And then he often begs for more Cheerios!

Last thing for now. I am pretty sure the kid would officially move into a tent in the backyard if we let him. He absolutely loves to be outside. We spend a huge portion of every weekend in the backyard and while I have been working on Saturdays Knox and Chris have been working on the vegetable garden. We have 7 varieties of tomoato, eggplant, broccoli, bell peppers, jalapeno, carrots, rosemay, oregano, thyme, and cantaloupe. Knox loves to help water the plants and will even carry the empty watering can over to them and basically put it on top of the plants pretending to water. He also loves to swing, go down his slide, push trucks, color with chaulk, play with (and try to blow his own) bubbles, "mow", and chase the cats. Oh and splash in any bit of water, try to drink from the hose, and put dirt (frequently from ant piles) into his dump truck.

Message from Momma

First off- SORRY! for being so slow with my posts. I was already slow and then suddenly (and unexpectedly) ran out of backup space on blogger and wasn't allowed to upload pictures. I didn't even know this was possible, so I have been going back through old posts, deleting pictures, making them smaller files, and re-uploading them just in case any of you get bored or blue and go looking for a super cute monster face as a pick-me-up he'll still be here.

I have reconciled myself to that fact that a post without a picture is (somewhat) acceptable so here goes. with random updates....

The car obsession has only increased with the introduction of Cars the Pixar movie. He will actually sit and watch the movie for extended periods of time. He will also stand and watch the movie. If he is involved in the putting on of it, he'll stand in front of the entertainment center holding on and looking up at the tv from a few inches away. If he's walking through the room and notices Lightning McQueen on the big screen, he'll just stop where he is. I've timed him standing in the middle of the room staring for over 15 minutes. Recently he has started requesting that we put Cars on by finding us in the house, pulling us by hand or clothing (more on that in a minute) to the living room, and pointing at the tv saying "car, car". He has also requeseted this at other people homes.

In addition to cars, Knox has expanded his obsession to aircraft. Planes and helicopters are included in this though they are both still "car". Although, we're pretty sure he sometimes says "aircar", it's hard to decipher. It is, however, easy to determine what he is talking about because his airplane discussions are always accompanied by vigorous sign language. He stiffens his arm and waves it side to side around his body mimicking flight and fairly accurately resembling the actual sign we showed him. Living across the street from a hospital and very near the water we regularly hear/see helicopters and he stops to "talk" about each one. Outside if anything flies overhead he is pretty great at determining the direction of the sound and spotting the plane/helicopter even when they're really far off.

A few weeks ago Knox started "pushing" us over when we were sitting on the ground. This quickly turned into "pulling" us up into a sitting positition. He really can't stand it if I am lying on the floor playing with him and every time grabs me by the shirt or tries to bear hug and pull me into a sitting position. I am obviously stronger and could resist but it is in my shirts' best interest to not be stretched into oblivion. It didn't take him long from there to start grabbing our hands (or jeans/legs/anything he can get ahold of) and take us around the house to point out things he wants. Cute, but sometimes not so cute at the same time. Last week the worst version of this began as he now pushes my legs from behind trying to steer me in the proper direction. This makes walking difficult, accomplishes little, and tends to lead to him (almost) getting stepped on.

I'm Ancient!

Cannot believe I am NINETEEN months old today. That. Is. Old.  This is so old I have decided the only fitting way to honor my new senior status is by looking back on my younger days. The day I turned 18 months to be exact.

January 28 was a beautiful sunny day and I set out in the new monster shirt mommy made me to meet my friends at the nature preserve. We hiked and hiked and hiked. And then had a picnic.

This is my friend Scuzzbucket. His mommy brings him from across the street to eat on our front porch and sometimes I get to hug him.

"Come on slowpokes!"

Happy Valentine's Day!!!

My special day after Valentine's treat for everyone is going to be trying to catch up on all the happenings in Corpus so I can (hopefully) get back on to regularly at least weekly updates. Momma says sorry for torturing you with phone pictures in this post but the phone is always handy and she says you can catch extra moments to share.

First thing Valentine's morning I donned my super awesome foot-printed heart shirt. A couple weeks ago I met up with a ton of my friends to make this sucker. The crazy thing is it was less than 30 degrees outside so Momma bundled me in like 6 layers of shirts and a hat and then takes me to my friend's house only to pull off my pants and socks! I did NOT like that, I did NOT like having stuff painted on my feet, and I really did NOT like having my foot mashed onto the heart! Haha it took THREE people to hold me down (I put up a good fight) but in the end I am glad they did cuz check this out!

Why thank you, I feel like a stud.

After I dressed in my Valentine's finest I threw a party!!! Well, my friend Will and I threw a party together in my backyard. THIRTEEN of our friends came and brought their moms whom they had talked into bringing treats! We played on the slide, pushed toys, pulled wagons, swinged (swang, swung???), ran in the grass, watched the balloons, drew with chalk (some of us- not me!- ate chalk).... there was pizza, and dip, and fruit, and desserts, and I ate a chocolate icing-ed chocolate cupcake like an animal. AND Daddy was home so early the party was still rockin'!

And the extra bonus of Valentine's was the presents! Who knew there was something almost as cool as Christmas? The night before, Gram and Buelo gave me an awesome card with a truck on it and a really cool super duper soft bear that talks when you hug it. It says funny things like "you almost squished the stuffing out of me!" and other phrases, but he kind of freaks me out! Momma thinks it will make me not freaked out of the talking bear if he sleeps with me. I don't know about that but I am sure if he tries anything at night George or Pokey Puppy or Big Frog or Starry Turtle will "squish his stuffing" out of him. Momma says soon we will be friends just like my Giant Talking Mickey Mouse that she says made me cry until Daddy beat him up and then we were friends. Momma is definitely friends with the bear and she hugs it almost as much as she hugs me. It is because the bear doesn't squirm and says things I think. Also, Gram and Uncle Aaron picked me out some cool new t-shirts. And! I almost forgot! Gram ALSO got me 2 books! One has fuzzy farm animals and the other is all about words!

Momma and Daddy gave me a Lightning McQueen card! When you open it is sings the Cars music. And they got me a big look and find Sesame Street book that is like my Cars and Toy Story ones. Secretly I think they were tired of looking at those books and my new one is kind of a Valentine for me and kind of a Valentine for them. In the action shot of me looking studly above I am sliding on my new book in my NEW Lightning McQueen socks!
Ya-ya and Mister Sir mailed me a Valentine all the way from Houston. In the package there was a card with a funny turtle on it and a super fat soft owl that I think is like a ball and it is fun to throw. There was also a puzzle of cars all smashed up and there is a to truck that fishes them out of the puzzle with magic (Momma says magnet) so I can put them back. And these crazy sweet car 4 pack.

Doing the puzzle with Daddy.
I pretended the car was like a phone. (Or I hugged it, I can't remember and Momma can't tell the difference.)

Whoa. Valentine's Day. I definitely feel the love. :)

Pack Your Snazzy Clothes

Right smack in the middle of January I went on a big trip to the Big Apple to attend an even bigger wedding! We flew on airplanes and Ya-Ya, Mister Sir, Auntie H, Uncle Pete, and Jack ALL flew with us. And there were SO many people at the hotel on Long Island that I got to hang out with (Great- Grandmother and Great- Grandaddy, great uncles and cousin cousins, awesome family friends and of course cousin Alex and Billy the bride and groom. There was a fun and delicious dinner Friday night when we got there and I stayed up all the way until midnight!

Saturday morning I played in the snow. SNOW! I love the snow. After sleeping for a bit after the snow time we went to the wedding place. There were fish to watch and some turtles and they were inside! I threw my cement truck at the fish but they didn't bring it back to me. (I got it back later though.) I had tons of fun rolling my car all over the halls and talking to everyone. Oh! And did I mention how HANDSOME I looked? I was pretty darn dashing if I say might say so myself. I didn't get to watch the wedding part because I ran out of Daddy's lap into the big divider curtain and hit something hard. Then laughed too loud when Daddy caught me. (But it was so funny!) I slept in my comfy cozy BabyHawk through the appetizers, but that was okay because once we had our table seats there was fruit and pasta and salad and salmon and bread. And that was JUST off Momma's plate! I don't even remember what other dinner meats I ate. But I DO remember eating chocolate cake. AND and ICE-CREAM FILLED CANOLI! (WHY do we not have those in Texas?) Also I danced. And also I played under the table. And also I was hilarious and the life of the party. The bride and groom and other people were pretty fantastic too, though.

One more thing.... I rode IN A LIMO! An actual like 20 person it's a crazy party in here LIMO!
