Not sure if up until this point I have mentioned how awesome our street is due to the AMAZING neighbors we have. I think not because I have a whole folder of pictures dedicated to a "neighbor post", so in the meantime just know that you should be jealous because the people in our neighborhood rock.
In december, just a few months after we moved in late July, Alison and Cailey moved in next door. If the kids knew how to manage it i think they would have dug an underground tunnel connecting our homes. If it wasn't an insane idea with what I would assume is an even more insane price tag, I might have beat them to it.
Thanks to Cailey's grandparents providing carnival ride wristbands {THANK YOU!} we were able to take the kids to the CC Buccaneer Days festival Saturday evening. And luckily Knox was measured at the doc last week at 42.5 inches so he just cleared the 42 inch height minimum for the majority of the non-kiddie rides. {He was devastated to find out he was too short for the bumper cars though.} Since they got to do a handful of rides at Oysterfest a couple months ago, we knew they'd be excited. We were right, they had A BLAST. Here's proof.
You can't ride everything at a carnival and skip the ferris wheel.
Indie started out oblivious.
The Arctic Blast
{Be prepared, due to the overabundance of adorable excitement there's a lot of pictures.}
Alison and Cailey waiting for it to start.
One they could ride sans-adult. I was hoping/trying to get a cute picture of them together all evening. They {KNOX} weren't especially cooperative in this endeavor.
BUT I do love this one. It's pretty indicative of their relationship. Knox tends to smush and attempt physical harm to those he loves.
About the most boring one to watch. Naturally with those bikes Knox had to ride it twice.
His tough motorcycle game face?
Entertaining each other while they wait to fly.
The Twister was Knox's favorite back in March {Februrary?}. The whole thing spins and then you can spin your own ball-thing at will.
Rockets!
It would be weird to have a family picture with everyone looking.
The only "ride" Knox bailed on was this fun-house thing. And only THIS one. He did a different one like 5 times. Go Cailey!
Aaaand Chris was stuck finishing it after passes Knox over the fence.
:)
Knox loves anything Halloween associated {zombies, skeletons, The Nightmare Before Christmas, ParaNorman...} so spotting the Haunted House was key to recovering from the Great Bumper Car Disaster.
And then suddenly the sun came out, the lighting was a million times better, and I got some shots that I love.
The Octopus. Both kids are in that pod with Chris {Mr. Arms} and that pod spins. Good thing Chris was up to these crazy spinning rides 'cause an adult was required for Knox.
Babywearing my little carny.
I love this one!
The best thing about not getting to ride was getting to see the kids' expressions. And I didn't miss much of their excitement since I could hear Knox's {happy} SCREAMING from the ground.
Then we ate the best funnel cake I may have ever had.
And one last ride.
Where Chris earned his Father's Day gift.
The carrousel was supposed to be the last ride. But it was followed by the swinging pirate ship.... and an airplane. Here is Knox crazy excited to go on the airplane, he pretended to be one and ran straight into my legs knocking himself over.
And instead of ending with a picture of Knox complaining about going home, I'll leave you with the seductive mermaid that oddly spins in the center of the young children's ride Winky The Whale.
