Wild Wedding Weekend

The three us of spent last weekend in San Antonio for the wedding of Knox's godfather Uncle Keith and Elizabeth. They were awesome enough to ask Knox to be the ring bearer (I'm thinking it's his charm and good looks that convinced them he needed to be seen in a tux) and Chris was the best man.

We got up there Thursday night to start the celebrating with their friends and family and a delicious dinner. There was lots of running around making friends by Knox and a loss of pants. Why is it so hard to keep this kid dressed? If he isn't removing clothing himself he's spilling on it, leaking into it, and making it otherwise disgusting and unwearable. We kept extra pants with us for the rest of the weekend.

Friday morning we had the most delicious buffet breakfast at The St. Anthony historic hotel in downtown SA where the wedding guests were staying. Knox took advantage of one of the perks of being 2, free buffets, and ate enough that they probably wished he could be charged. A muffin, french toast, strawberries, cantaloupe, honeydew, sausage, yogurt, several strips of bacon, some omelet, 2 cartons of milk..... After the feast we ran some errands. Initially we were hunting for a shirt for Mr. K to wear to dinner, but Chris left his pants (what is it with these guys and pants!) in Corpus so we got those as well.

Knox was a superstar at the never-ending rehearsal and walked down the aisle like a champ (if only everyone could have seen!) with the three flower girls. Eventually we made it to a very well decorated, fun dinner where other than not eating a thing, Knox was awesome. He partied, he played, and in the middle of someone's toast he threw up on the floor. Apparently he got the stomach virus that every other kid in his class at school ended up with as well.

He was mostly better Saturday other than not eating and Buelo, Uncles Andrew and Aaron, and I took him to the zoo.

Lucky he had three big guys to carry him around

The little monkey on the left is a baby. It was hilarious jumping around and falling off the rocks. Knox found it extra funny with Buelo's sound effects.

Buelo, Uncle Andrew (tio), Uncle Aaron, and the star of the show. And a tiger (over Andrew's shoulder)

After nap we rode a trolley to the cathedral. And then there was the wedding! He tried his best. He stood with 4 year old Claire and had 9 year olds Lucy and Abigail all set to walk behind him. He went about 3 feet and froze. After a nudge from behind he took a few more steps before freezing again. Serious stage fright. After several seconds and another nudge he broke off from the pack to run back to me. I told him to go ahead (there was a stash of marshmallows at the end and we'd practiced a lot) so he went back to aisle and laid down playing with the pillow. Chris and the maid of honor were walking last so Daddy scooped him up and he cried the whole way down. At least he didn't puke.

We al had a great time at the reception. Knox went up to bed with Gram and Buelo about midnight and Chris and I stayed to party, dance, and eventually break both my feet and fracture my ankle. Oops. at least it was during the second or third to the last song that the failed hop occurred so I didn't miss much.

It is so difficult to get a picture with this guy. This was my favorite!
Cocktail hour = time to rest up
"but wait there, I might need another drink"
"and then I punched the guy"
 Getting late and looking sleepy
My favorite picture of him all night
Down the steps with Uncle Aaron
And back up them with Uncle Andrew

Right after the unfortunate hop. Arrows showing the breaks- you could see the swelling almost instantly

Sunday morning Chris carried me to brunch with everyone before heading back to Corpus. We made it home. Not exactly in one piece but at least we survived.

A New Plan

Ok... here's the new plan. As Knox has become an insanely active crazy jumping running wildebeest, I am going to take over for awhile and HOPEFULLY keep this updated better and gradually catch up on all the things he was too busy to share over the past few months! The catching up will include: seeing Ania in Maryland, YELLOWSTONE, field camp in Wyoming, starting his new school, Austin City Limits music festival, and LOTS of other outings and non outings... and potty training. And will probably be told with lots of pictures and videos!

My first very own ice cream cone!

And everyone sharing the ice cream experience with me!

Mmmmmmmmmmm

Mommy and I went kayaking with Ania in the river at Aunt Linda's! It was AWESOME! I sat in front of Mommy and I could lean over the side to drag my hand in the water. Sometimes there were little waves to ump over and that was the best part!

The view from Aunt Linda's yard. I am showing Ania where the moon is- she and Mommy seemed so confused they kept asking me to show them the moon and I was like 'guys! it is RIGHT there!'

You know, just being my handsome self.

That's my cousin cousin Conor! He just graduated from high school- CONGRATULATIONS!!!
There was a fun party just for him.. with cake. I love cake.

And here is cousin cousin Colton with us! I wasn't really in the mood for that. Also, I can't remember why I am so wet.

Nashville

I just got home from my first trip to Nashville. Momma, YaYa, and I stayed with Nana and BeanPa and got to visit with lots of cousins. I hardly had met any of them before now and we had SO MUCH FUN!
Mary Preston is just barely older than me, she had her second birthday the day before we met. I wish I could play with her everyday. Maybe soon I'll be big enough to call her on the phone and we can pretend to play together. She had so much to talk about and I didn't even mind too much when she tried to put her hair bow in my hair because she was SO funny.

Me and Mary Preston

I told you she tried to dress me like a girl!

We ate lunch together. Like smushed together.

Jamie playing ring around the rosy with us.

Mary Preston didn't want me to blow away! It got SOOOO windy!

Mark and I were dressed the same.

BeanPa ready for golf and me ready for the airplane!

Why doesn't every airport have a play area? All set to fly off to Maryland!

Today: A Good Day

I'll try to catch you up on the last month (including Easter) later, but tonight I am going to tell you about my great day.

Momma had the hand, foot, and mouth (coxsackie virus) so she couldn't go to work and spread that kind of fun around. I guess I should come clean and let you know she got it from me. Whoopsie daisy. Sorry Momma! Well, it all worked out for me because we had an awesome day.

First thing this morning we went to the botanical gardens. Now that place is a workout! Momma says you don't have to run the whole time you're there, but I am pre-tty sure that you do. We spent more than an hour there and Momma says I didn't cooperate with her plan to take pictures. Its not my fault I am CRAZY FAST!!!

In the car we sang the ABC song a lot. Forwards and backwards. And we did letter sounds (you know "A" says Ah, "A" says Ah.....), and when we got to "D" Momma said some "D" words and I chimed in with "Da-da"! All on my own!

Then we went to the library and ran into William's mom. What luck!

The day was going SO great I decided I wasn't going to nap in case something else cool happened. That way I wasn't going to miss anything. I wore Momma down pretty quickly and helped her blow up my brand new swimming pool. It. is. enormous!!! Thanks Great-Grandmother and Great-Grandaddy! (It's my Easter present from them.) After it was all pumped up (and my giant lion and I had a chance to play in it in the living room) Momma and I squished it through the hallway to the backyard and I went swimming. And SLIDING! Because my new pool is SO BIG that my entire slide fits inside!

I went swimming again before dinner with Daddy. After we came in I helped set the table. I carried the salt and pepper, and silverware, and napkins all by myself. I ate TONS of zucchini and squash and then I helped clean up the table. I even carried the plates!

Then I helped myself to a popsicle and a frozen waffle. And went for another swim.

Good morning! Just checking the outside.

Maybe I'll grow into them?

Told you I was fast!

Too bad Momma is so slow though.

Just gonna look at some stuff while I wait for Momma to catch up.

I was so sweaty my hair went wild.

 SEE?!?! It's enormous!

I did the slide like a hundred times.

Mmmmmmmmm.... frozen stuff. And then I swam again. I mean I HAD to wash off the sticky anyway.
